MPC Mechanical Polished Concrete
High-end, multi-step flooring solution that involves physically grinding, honing, and polishing a concrete surface using heavy-duty equipment with increasingly finer diamond-bonded abrasives. The process also includes applying a chemical hardener, or densifier, to strengthen and solidify the concrete, which allows it to be polished to a durable, reflective, and sleek finish.
Best suited to houses and commercial spaces, this cannot be done in outdoor areas.
Hone and Seal
Honed concrete is created by multiple stages of grinding the surface of concrete to reveal a smooth, even texture with varying degrees of exposed aggregate. Then applying a penetrating sealer.
Since the sealer is absorbed, it cannot be scratched as easily, scuffed, or peeled off by foot traffic or hot tires, making it more durable and recommended for outdoors areas, pool surrounds garages etc. Usually, a slightly cheaper option than MPC. Matte or satin finishes available.
This process results in a refined finish that combines the durability of concrete with a sleek, modern aesthetic.
Epoxy Flake Systems
Is a high-performance, multi-layered flooring finish that uses coloured vinyl chips (flakes) embedded in an epoxy base coat, then sealed with a clear topcoat.
It is one of the most popular and durable decorative concrete coating systems, widely used in garages, commercial kitchens, showrooms, warehouses, and other high traffic areas.
